  1. This file "robocopy.txt" added/written by K4QXP.

  3. Included with this file, in ROBOCOPY.ZIP, are three files which I
  4. downloaded from 73 Magazine's BBS on 21 SEP 1990:
  5.    ROBO.ALG   the algorithm, an explanation of the software
  6.    ROBO.C     the C language source for the .EXE
  7.    ROBO.EXE   the executable
  8.  
  9. The October, 1990 issue of "73 Amateur Radio" has an article titled
  10. "ROBO-COPY", beginning on page 28, which describes the use of this
  11. software on a PC computer to copy cw (Morse code).
  12.  
  13. The article also gives details for building the interface that's
  14. needed between the radio receiver used to listen to the cw,
  15. and the computer.

  17. For the benefit of readers not seeing the magazine article before
  18. reading this, here's the parts list (to help you decide if you want
  19. to go after a copy of the magazine).

  22. C1       0.047 uF @50v., Mylar
  23. Q1, Q2   2N3906 or equivalent
  24. D1       1N914 or equivalent
  25. D2       LED
  26. R2       470-ohm, 1/2 watt

  28. T1       110v to 12.6v @300mA, RS #273-1358A  [ used for audio coupling ]
  29. L1       large toroid  [used to keep "noise" from PC going out on the 
  30.                cable between interface and PC; perhaps not imperative ]
